Tomohon – Kemarau panjang yang menerjang daerah Sulawesi Utara berimbas pada debit air tanah. Tak terkecuali wilayah Kota Tomohon turut mengalami kekeringan air.
Melihat kondisi tersebut, Wakil Walikota Tomohon Syerly Adelyn Sompotan (SAS) yang juga selaku Ketua Palang Merah Indonesia Kota Tomohon berinisiatif menyalurkan bantuan air bersih bagi masyarakat.
PMI Kota Tomohon menyalurkan air kepada Keluarga Ibu Tety Mondota di Kelurahan Kakaskasen Kecamatan Tomohon Utara.Rabu (25/9/2019) malam.
Ketua PMI Tomohon atau akrab dipanggil SAS, berharap bantuan cuma-cuma ini dapat mengurangi beban masyarakat. “Karena air menjadi kebutuhan pokok masyarakat, untuk itu kami selalu siap melayani masyarakat,” ungkap SAS.
Mondota, yang menerima bantuan air tersebut menyampaikan terima kasih atas kepedulian dari Wakil Walikota Tomohon.
“Bantuan ini sangat berarti bagi kami, karena sejak kemarau kami kesulitan mendapat air bersih, sumur kami sampai kering. Sekali lagi terima kasih Ibu SAS,” tutur Mondota.
Satuan Aksi Sukarelawan penyaluran air bersih akan berlangsung selama musim kemarau. (Oma)
