Tomohon -Walikota Tomohon Jimmy Feidie Eman SE Ak CA bersama Tim Ahli Pemkot Tomohon membahas tentang konsep pengembangan Kota Tomohon ke depan. Bertempat di Cafe Anugerah Hill, Sabtu (26/10/19).
Tim Ahli Prof. Dr. Ir. Charles Keppel DEA, Dr. Vecky Masinambouw, Dr. Een Walewangko dan Dr. G Waleleng dengan fasilitasi oleh Staf Khusus Walikota Tomohon Dr. Yance Tinangon, memaparkan Konsep Besar untuk menuju peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat Kota Tomohon ke depan melalui beberapa konsep yang akan dijadikan kajian untuk kemudian diusulkan adalah Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Pariwisata Kota Tomohon yang terkait erat dengan KSPN Tomohon-Tondano adalah pengembangan pariwisata dengan mengaitkan potensi geothermal (panas bumi) sebagai obyek wisata dan edukasi.
Dengan Rencana pengembangan Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Pariwisata Kota Tomohon, yang merupakan bagian tidak terpisahkan dengan isu strategis berdasarkan PP Nomor 50 Tahun 2011 tentang Rencana Induk Pariwisata Nasional (Riparnas) dimana terdapat Kawasan Srategis Pariwisata Nasional (KSPN) didalamnya KSPN Tomohon-Tondano.
Sebagai pemrakarsa, dapat melibatkan pemerintah bahkan pihak swasta ataupun perorangan dengan pendekatan PPPC (Public Partner Private Community) untuk percepatan menuju suksesnya Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Pariwisata Kota Tomohon.
Dalam lokus KEK Pariwisata dimaksud, dapat dikembangkan konsep Technopar, dengan Inkubator pariwisata danau, Geothermal, masyarakat dan dunia usaha
Dalam lokus KEK Pariwisata Tomohon tersebut, akan dikembangkan suatu tempat pusat ilmu pengetahuan pariwisata dengan usulan nomenklatur Tomohon Tourism Community College/ Pusat Studi Komunitas Pariwisata Tomohon dengan melibatkan generasi milenial untuk dididik sebagai pelaku bisnis usaha pariwisata.
Dalam Lokus KEK Pariwisata dimaksud, dapat diusulkan sebagai kawasan Geopark/geological park (Taman Bumi) dengan berbagai potensi yang dapat dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat Kota Tomohon dengan mengelola secara cermat dengan cara mengambil manfaat, menggali, menghargai dan mengembangkan warisan geologi untuk kepentingan umat manusia.
