Tomohon – Humas Unit Transfusi Darah (UTD) PMI Pusat Loka Widjaya menegaskan sejatinya, uang sebesar Rp 360 ribu yang dibebankan kepada penerima darah donor bukanlah “harga jual” darah seperti yang sering disematkan publik. Angka tersebut merupakan Biaya Pengganti Proses Pengolahan Darah (BPPD) yang meliputi biaya-biaya terkait proses pengolahan darah sebelum bisa didistribusikan ke pasien.
“Jual-beli darah itu tidak ada, uang sebesar Rp 360 ribu per kantong darah untuk biaya ganti keseluruhan proses tersebut. Karena pasien butuh komponen darah yang beda-beda, bukan satu kantong darah utuh,” terang Loka Widjaya, Humas UTD PMI Pusat seperti dikutip di tirto.id.
Misalnya saja, pasien yang terkena DBD, maka darah yang diberikan adalah jenis trombosit. Sementara untuk pasien thalasemi, maka akan diberikan kantung sel darah merah. Darah tidak diberikan secara untuk karena tubuh akan memberikan reaksi penolakan.
“Iya benar bahwa pembiayaannya bukan pada darah, tapi pada kantong darahnya beserta proses lainnya. Harga tersebut untuk mengganti Biaya Pengganti Pengolahan Darah (BPPD), setelah PMI menerima darah dari para pendonor, tentu prosesnya tidak berhenti sampai di situ,” jelasnya.
Dikatakannya, bahwa darah tidak bisa langsung digunakan oleh pasien yang membutuhkan. Darah harus melewati serangkaian pemeriksaan komponen dan virus yang mungkin saja terkandung di dalamnya.
“Tujuannya untuk memastikan darah tidak mengandung virus 4 penyakit menular yaitu hepatitis, sifilis, HIV/AIDS, dan malaria dan untuk pasien BPJS,” tandasnya.
Terkait hal tersebut, Ketua PMI Kota Tomohon Syerly Adelyn Sompotan (SAS) juga menegaskan bahwa tidak ada “penjualan” darah di PMI Tomohon yang Rp 360 ribu per kantong bukanlah harga jual tapi harga tersebut untuk mengganti Biaya Pengganti Pengolahan Darah (BPPD).
Dirinya menambahkan, untuk UTD PMI Tomohon bekerjasama dengan dua Rumah Sakit yang ada di Kota Tomohon yaitu RSUD Pratama Anugerah dan RSU Bethesda.
“Jadi jika pasien berada di antara dua RS tersebut maka ketika pasien membutuhkan darah dan menggunakan BPJS, pengambilan darah sudah tidak lagi dikenakan biaya, namun jika pasien berada bukan dari dua RS yang telah bekerjsama ini maka pasien akan di kenakan biaya dan nantinya pihak keluaga pasien bisa mengklaim pergantian pembelian kantong darah lewat RS/BPJS,” ujar SAS yang juga adalah Wakil Wali Kota Tomohon kepada sejumlah wartawan, Jumat (08/02/19).
“Jika nantinya ada masyarakat yang memerlukan informasi lebih lanjut bisa langsung datang ke UTD PMI Kota Tomohon yang berlokasi di Kompleks RS Bethesda Tomohon,” pungkasnya. (Oma)
