Sulut – Sejumlah daerah termasuk Sulawesi Utara meliburkan sekolahnya selama 14 hari ke depan menyusul ditetapkannya oleh Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) status pandemi COVID-19.
Sekolah diliburkan untuk menekan penyebaran virus corona. Kemendikbud mengimbau siswa-siswa agar aktif belajar di rumah mengisi libur sekolah sebagai upaya menekan penularan virus corona.
Pelaksana Tugas Kepala Biro Kerja Sama dan Hubungan Masyarakat Kemendikbud Ade Erlangga Masdiana meminta siswa tidak berinteraksi dengan banyak orang saat libur sekolah.
“Libur sekolah selama 14 hari dan tidak masuk ke sekolah atau ruang kelas. Tujuannya untuk mencegah dan menghindari penyebaran virus COVID-19,” katanya di Jakarta, Minggu (15/3/2020).
Meski demikian, kata dia, bukan berarti siswa berhenti belajar namun pendidikan tetap dilaksanakan dengan belajar jarak jauh.
“Jadi saya imbau agar siswa tidak boleh pergi ke tempat umum dan berinteraksi dengan banyak orang,” katanya.
Kemendikbud juga meminta agar orang tua tidak membawa anaknya ke luar kota atau pulang kampung. Siswa dapat belajar melalui pembelajaran dalam jaringan (daring) yang disiapkan Kemendikbud seperti laman Rumah Belajar.
Selain itu, Rumah Belajar dapat dimanfaatkan oleh siswa dan guru pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD), sekolah dasar (SD), sekolah menengah pertama (SMP), sekolah menengah atas/kejuruan (SMA/SMK) sederajat. (*/JM)
