Ratahan – Bupati James Sumendap SH, saat akan menghadiri acara memperingati tiga tahun kepemimpinan OD-SK di Manado secara tiba-tiba menyuruh sopir pribadinya untuk berhenti, karena melihat terjadi lakalantas.
Setelah kendaraan Dinas DB 1 J berhenti secara spontanitas Bupati langsung turun dan melihat serta memberikan pertolongan kepada pengendara roda dua R2 yang saat itu mengalami kecelakaan di jalur Manado-Tomohon tepatnya di jalan Tinoor.
Bupati James Sumendap SH langsung memerintahkan beberapa anak buahnya termasuk ajudan agar supaya bersama-sama memberikan pertolongan.
Sontak saja sejumlah warga yang ada di tempat kejadian perkara TKP terkejut karena melihat sosok pejabat yang secara spontanitas memberikan pertolongan.
“Kita kira bukan bupati, nanti kita dengar ada orang cuma bupati, baru kita tau, mar bagus katu kalu pejabat peduli dengan kejadian bagini, kalu nda ada orang lia lebe fatal,” ujar Roy Roy warga Kinilow kepada Redaksisulut.
Tidak merasa waktunya tersita Bupati berusaha menenangkan korban tersebut, sambil berusaha untuk dilarikan ke rumah sakit terdekat. “Sebaiknya bawah ke rumah sakit saja biar dapat tindakan dari dokter,” kata sumendap saat ingin mengevakuasi korban laka walau ada agenda yang harus dia hadiri di Manado.
Dengan kejadian tersebut Semendap berpesan agar supaya kita semua lebih berhati-hati dalam mengendarai roda dua atau empat di jalan raya apa lagi ini musim hujan, jalannya licin (Nal)
