Manado – Pemerintah Kota Manado melalui Dinas Pertanian menyerahkan bantuan bibit jagung dan cabai kepada kelompok – kelompok Tani, sebanyak 30.000 bibit cabe dan bibit jagung bisi 18 dari Kementerian Pertanian untuk Poktan sebanyak 566 hakter diserahkan secara simbolis kepada kelompok Tani Hintakinan, Kelompok Tani Hintuhuan, Kelompok Tani Hinggilidan dan kelompok tani Kayu Wulan sedangkan untuk bibit cabai diserahkan kepada kelompok tani Esa Keter, Kelompok Tani Mairokang, Kelompok Tani Makaria serta kelompok Tani Singkatuhang dari Bengkol. Bertempat di lahan perkebunan Buha Mapanget, Jumat (24/04).
Para petani mengapresiasi kepedulian Pemerintah Kota Manado dan Kementerian Pertanian RI, yang terus memperhatikan nasib petani, terlebih ditengah pandemi covid 19.
“Makase Pak Wali Kota dan Pak Menteri so banya bantu pa torang kelompok tani di Kota Manado,” ucap Endi dari Kelompok Tani Singkatuhang dari Bengkol.
Sementara itu, Wali Kota Manado, DR. Ir. GS Vicky Lumentut, SH, M.Si, DEA melalui Kadis Pertanian Kota Manado, M Sofyan, didampingi Kabag Pem-Humas Setda Kota Manado, Sonny M. Takumansang, mengatakan semoga bantuan bibit jagung dan cabai dapat meningkatkan hasil pertanian bagi kelompok – kelompok Tani.
” Ini merupakan salah satu upaya ketahanan pangan, semoga para petani terbantu dan hasil pertanian makin meningkat apalagi ditengah wabah pandemi covid-19 dapat membantu penopang ekonomi masyarakat dan memenuhi kebutuhan pangan di Kota Manado saat ini “, ujar Sofyan.
Diketahui, setelah kegiatan penyerahan bibit jagung dan cabai, juga diadakan penyemprotan hama dan penyakit menggunakan bio. (*/JM)
