Manado – Ditengah pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda dunia termasuk Kota Manado, Wali Kota Manado DR Ir GS Vicky Lumentut SH MSi DEA merayakan Jumat Agung bersama keluarga di rumah, Jumat (10/04/2020).
Perayaan Jumat Agung yang ditandai dengan Perjamuan Kudus, dimaknai orang nomor satu di Manado itu sebagai kesempatan untuk berdiakonia atau memberi bantuan kepada yang membutuhkan disaat merebaknya virus Corona.
“Mari kita maknai dengan memberi diakonia bagi sesama kita yang membutuhkan,”tukas Wali Kota GSVL, yang juga Ketua Komisi Kategorial Pria Kaum Bapa Sinode (PKB) Gereja Masehi Injili di Minahasa (GMIM).
Selain itu, Wali Kota pilihan rakyat Manado tersebut, mengingatkan warga Manado agar tetap mengikuti petunjuk dan arahan yang diberikan pemerintah dalam upaya memutus mata rantai penyebaran Covid-19 di Kota Manado.
“Selamat Merayakan Jumat Agung dan Perjamuan Kudus, Jumat 10 April 2020. Di situasi yang sulit ini torang sama-sama laksanakan petunjuk-petunjuk Pemerintah untuk melakukan social distancing guna mencegah bersama penyebaran virus Covid-19, sering cuci tangan, lebih banyak berdiam diri di rumah, kalau tidak ada kebutuhan mendesak jangan keluar,”tandas Wali Kota GSVL.
Suasana perjamuan Kudus dalam perayaan Jumat Agung di rumah kediaman Wali Kota GSVL di Puncak Malalayang, Kecamatan Malalayang, tampak kusuk.
Melalui live streaming jaringan televisi, Wali Kota GSVL bersama isteri Prof DR Julyeta PA Lumentut Runtuwene MS DEA dan anak-anak serta orang tua mengikuti satu persatu prosesi Perjamuan Kudus yang lain dari biasanya ini.
“Saya mengajak mari dengan hati yang tulus dan penuh dengan kerendahan diri kita memohon ampun pada Tuhan kiranya Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia dan Dunia, segera dipulihkan dari wabah Covid-19. Nama Tuhan Yesus Kristus dipermuliakan,”pungkas Wali Kota GSVL. (Liputan Khusus)
