Berdasarkan informasi yang berhasil dihimpun, kapal tersebut bernama KM Oriental Silver dengan bobot 13000 GT, yang berlayar dari pelabuhan Makassar menuju pelabuhan Bitung bermuatan konteiner dengan jumlah muatan 884 Tu dan jumlah crew sebanyak 20 orang, dengan dengan nakhoda kapal bernama Hirman Bumbungan. Kapal tersebut didapati kandas di perairan selat Lembeh sebelah selatan dekat lampu hijau dengan koordinat 1°23.7907 N125°09.5453 E.
Kejadian diperkirakan pada pukul 19.30 Wita, Kamis, (26/2/2026). Berdasarkan data pelayaran per akhir Februari 2026, KM Oriental Silver adalah kapal kontainer/feeder berbendera Indonesia yang dioperasikan oleh Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines (SPIL).
