Sitaro- Pusat Vulkanologi, Mitigasi, dan Bencana Geologi (PVMBG), mengimbau masyarakat tak panik menyusul erupsi Gunung Ruang di Kabupaten Sitaro Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, pada Rabu (17/04/2024).
Dalam penjelasan PVMBG menyebutkan berdasarkan hasil pemantauan visual dan instrumental yang menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan aktivitas vulkanik pada Gunung Ruang, maka tingkat aktivitas Gunung Ruang dinaikkan dari Level III (Siaga) menjadi Level IV (AWAS) terhitung mulai tanggal 17 April 2024 pukul 21.00 WITA.
Adapun ketinggian kolom erupsi cenderung meningkat dengan material erupsi berupa abu disertai lontaran batuan pijar yang mencapai jarak sekitar 5 km di pulau Tagulandang.
Jumlah kejadian Gempa Vulkanik Dalam meningkat signifikan disertai getaran Tremor Vulkanik Menerus dengan amplitudo overscale yang menandakan saat ini masih terjadi proses peretakan batuan disertai migrasi magma dari reservoir magma dalam ke permukaan dalam bentuk erupsi eksplosif berselingan dengan erupsi efusif (aliran lava).
Oleh karena itu Pusat Vulkanologi, Mitigasi, dan Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) menghimbau,
1. Masyarakat di sekitar G. Ruang dan pengunjung/wisatawan agar tetap waspada dan tidak memasuki wilayah radius 6 km dari pusat kawah aktif G. Ruang.
2. Masyarakat yang bermukim pada wilayah P. Tagulandang yang masuk dalam radius 6 km agar segera dievakuasi ke tempat aman di luar radius 6 km.
3. Masyarakat di Pulau Tagulandang, khususnya yang bermukim di dekat pantai, agar mewaspadai potensi lontaran batuan pijar, luruhan awan panas (surge), dan tsunami yang disebabkan oleh runtuhan tubuh gunungapi ke dalam laut.
4. Masyarakat dihimbau untuk selalu menggunakan masker, untuk menghindari paparan abu vulkanik yang dapat mengganggu sistem pernafasan.
5. Masyarakat di sekitar G. Ruang diharap tenang, beraktivitas seperti biasa, tidak terpancing isu-isu tentang erupsi G. Ruang dan tetap mengikuti perkembangan aktivitas G. Ruang melalui aplikasi MAGMA Indonesia yang dapat diunduh di Google Playstore atau melalui website https://magma.esdm.go.id.
6. Pemerintah Daerah, BPBD Provinsi dan Kabupaten agar senantiasa berkoordinasi dengan Pos Pengamatan Gunung Api Ruang, Desa Tulusan, Kecamatan Tagulandang, Kabupaten Sitaro, Sulawesi Utara atau Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi di Bandung. (Herka)
