Tahuna – Status Gunung Awu di kabupaten kepulauan Sangihe berada pada level III atau siaga,sesuai data yang disampiakan Subkoordinator Mitigasi Gunung api Wilayah Timur PVMBG Devy Kamil Syahbana kepada wartawan.
” Gunung Awu dari level II waspada ke level III siaga, terhitung mulai tanggal 11 Mei 2022 pukul 24.00 Wita. Rekomendasi zona bahaya adalah radius 3,5 Kilometer (Km) dari kawah Gunung Awu,” kata Syabana.
Oleh karena status ini ,Kepala Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah BPBD kabupaten Sangihe Wandu Labesi menghimbau masyarakat yang menempati daerah sekitar Gunung awu agar siaga.
“Kami telah mengsosialisasikan kepada masyarakat yang bermukim di lereng Gunung Awu, langkah yang harus dilakukan ketika ada peningkatan aktivitas Gunung Awu,” kata Labesi.
Labesi juga melarang masyarakat untuk beraktifitas di sekitar gunung awu ,untuk menghindari kemungkinan terburuk dari aktivitas Gunung awu.
” Kami melarang warga untuk beraktivitas di wilayah sekitar gunung awu dalam radius 3,5 kilometer dari puncak Gunung Awu,” kata Labesi.
Dirinya menambahkan agar masyarakat tidak langsung percaya terhadap isu-isu yang nantinya akan merugikan masyarakat ,karena pihak BPBD Kabupaten Sangihe akan tetap memantau dan menginformasikan langsung kepada warga terkat aktifitas Gunung Awu. (Yoss)
