Sulut-Gubernur Sulawesi Utara, Mayjen TNI (Purn) Yulius Selvanus didampingi Ketua TP-PKK Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, Ibu Amik Fitri Wandriani hadir memeriahkan gelaran Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF) 2025, dalam rangkaian Turnamen of Flower (ToF) yang berlangsung di Kota Tomohon, Sabtu (9/8/2025).
Pada kesempatan itu, Gubernur Yulius menegaskan komitmen mempertahankan Tomohon sebagai simbol Kota Bunga.
“Kalau Bandung dikenal sebagai Kota Kembang, Tomohon adalah Kota Bunga, dan kita akan terus menjaga ikon ini. Spirit ini hadir karena dukungan pemerintah pusat dan seluruh masyarakat Sulawesi Utara dan masyarakat Kota Tomohon,” ujarnya.
Gubernur Yulius menyebut TIFF yang telah memasuki tahun ke-13 menjadi bukti kekuatan kolaborasi antara petani, pelaku pariwisata, ekonomi kreatif, dan pemerintah daerah. Dengan tema “Unite to be Great”, ia mengajak semua pihak bersatu meneguhkan keunggulan Sulawesi Utara.
Ia mendorong pemberian akses teknologi dan pasar internasional bagi petani bunga, pelatihan branding untuk pelaku ekonomi kreatif, serta pembangunan infrastruktur terintegrasi agar setiap sudut kota memancarkan keindahan.
“Prestasi Tomohon mendunia bukan sekadar seremoni, tapi tonggak penggerak ekonomi. TIFF harus menjadi magnet wisata, memperluas lapangan kerja, dan mendorong UMKM berbasis budaya lokal,” kata Gubernur YS.
Gubernur Yulius juga membayangkan Sulut sebagai pusat agrowisata bunga dan inovasi kreatif yang manfaatnya dirasakan hingga tingkat nasional. (*J.Mo)
