Tahuna-Ditandai dengan Pemukulan Gong, Bupati Kepulauan Sangihe, Michael Thungari, S.E., M.M., secara resmi membuka Opening Ceremony Pemilihan Ungke Momo Sangihe 2026 yang berlangsung di Tahuna Beach Hotel and Resort, Rabu (19/8/2026).
Bupati Michael Thungari saat itu juga membawakan materi dan pembekalan secara kepada para peserta. Inisiasi Dinas Pariwisata Daerah bekerja sama dengan Ikatan Ungke Momo Sangihe ini langsung menyambut 19 finalis terbaik yang siap memasuki masa karantina.
Kepada para peserta, penyelenggara dan semua yang tetlibat pada ajang Ungke/ Momo ini, Bupati menekankan dimana ajang ini merupakan sarana pembentukan kualitas generasi muda daerah secara komprehensif.
”Ungke Momo bukan sekadar kompetisi fisik atau busana, melainkan wadah untuk mencetak generasi muda yang cerdas, berkarakter, serta memiliki kepedulian tinggi terhadap pelestarian budaya di tanah Tampungang Lawo,” tegasnya.
Rangkaian kegiatan ini akan mencapai puncaknya pada Malam Anugerah (Grand Final) yang dijadwalkan berlangsung pada Jumat, 21 Agustus 2026, bertempat di Auditorium K.H. Tatengkeng, Politeknik Nusa Utara.
Turut hadir dalam acara ini Ketua TP-PKK Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe, jajaran Unsur Forkopimda, serta Para Pimpinan Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) di lingkungan Pemerintah Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe.(*)
