Asahan, redaksisulut.com – Bupati Asahan H. Surya, B.Sc melakukan talkshow Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting (GENTING) dengan Metro TV di Hotel Swiss Bellin Medan, Selasa (17/12/2024). Pada talkshow tersebut Bupati Asahan bersama dengan Kepala Perwakilan BKKBN Provinsi Sumatera Utara Dr. Munawar Ibrahim,. S.Kp, MPH membahas tentang peran Tim Percepatan Penurunan Stunting (TPPS) dalam gerakan Orang Tua Asuh (OTA).
Kepala Perwakilan BKKBN Provinsi Sumatera Utara mengatakan, pelaksanaan Gerakan OTA ini sesuai degan intruksi Presiden Republik Indonesia Nomor 4 Tahun 2022 Tentang Percepatan Penghapusan Kemiskinan Ekstrim. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah terwujudnya generasi yang sehat, cerdas, kuat dan tidak stunting dan meningkatnya kepedulian dan peran serta masyarakat dalam pencegahan stunting.
Lebih lanjut Munawar mengatakan, yang menjadi OTA untuk anak stunting ini adalah Pemerintah, Pemerintah Daerah, BUMN, BUMD, Individu/Perorangan, LSM/Komunitas, Swasta, Perguruan Tinggi/Akademis dan Media. Untuk kriteria sendiri yang menjadi anak asuh program Genting adalah ibu hamil, ibu yang memiliki Balita Dibawah Dua Tahun (Baduta), Baduta 0-23 bulan dan Balita 24-59 bulan dari keluarga miskin. “Mari bergotong royong dalam mensukseskan GENTING ini karena cegah Stunting itu penting”, tandasnya.
Ditempat yang sama Bupati Asahan mengatakan, untuk menurunkan angka stunting di Kabupaten Asahan, Pemerintah Kabupaten Asahan merekrut Bapak Asuh Anak Stunting (BAAS). Yang menjadi BAAS yakni Forkopimda, Instansi Vertikal, Lembaga dan elemen masyarakat Kabupaten Asahan. “Program BAAS ini telah berhasil menurunkan angka stunting di Kabupaten Asahan sebesar 11 %, dimana target untuk Sumatera Utara sebesar 14 %”, ujarnya.
Bupati mengajak, mari daftarkan diri sebagai salah satu OTA, kalau bukan kita siapa lagi. “Jadikan perbuatan yang kita lakukan dapat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat Kabupaten Asahan”, ungkapnya.
