Minahasa-Dalam menunjang Program Peningkatan Ketahanan Pangan Pemerintah Pusat, Provinsi Sulut dan Kabupaten Minahasa, Pemerintah desa Teling Kecamatan Tombariri, melaksanakan program tanam Padi Gogo Lokal.
Hukum Tua desa Teling Kecamatan Tombariri Israel Bawalang, menjelaskan peningkatan ketahanan pangan gencar kami laksanakan dengan menggunakan benih padi gogo lokal.
“Penanaman padi gogo lokal disukai masyarakat, dikarenakan bilamana menggunakan bibit lain tidak pernah menghasilkan buah sehingga pendapatan mereka sedikit berkurang.” Ucapnya.
Lanjut di katakannya, di bulan April ini, masyarakat ada yang panen Padi Gogo lokal, yang di tanam di lahan seluas 50 hektar dan jika di hitung bervariasi sekitar 300 hingga 3000 ton setiap panen, namun tergantung pada beberapa faktor.
“Rata-rata hasil panen padi gogo lokal per hektar adalah 3-6 ton. Jika kita gunakan angka rata-rata 5 ton per hektar, maka hasil panen dari 50 hektar adalah 250 ton.”ungkap Israel. (Ronny)
